Day 1

I happened to be at the shelter when Keno arrived. He was picked up as a stray on a city street. I was in the front office and could hear a dog crying, screaming from the booking room. I went over to investigate, and a white husky pup had just arrived.
Several people were standing around him, calming him down. He was very friendly and sweet, but had wigged-out when a slip-leash (the kind that tightens) was put around his neck. Cute little guy. I patted and hugged him, and he gave kisses back. Since he had identification, the staff started the process of tracking down his owner.
I took these pictures upon his arrival:

Hello world!

Keno is a 9 month old Siberian Husky puppy.  He wound up in an animal shelter as a stray dog.  His owner was located, but the person released him to the shelter.  She said that Keno was born dead as a puppy, but was revived.  However, he suffered some sort of brain damage from this incident.  Keno often displays some odd behavior.  This blog will document his symptoms and actions, and see what, if anything, can be done to improve his condition.

Keno was a favorite of the staff at the shelter.  As you can see, he is an incredibly handsome boy.  He is also sweet and gives kisses.  He’s a little cross-eyed, and something is wrong with his vision, so we will try to determine what is happening there too.
